This is a weird idea, but it’s pretty funny. Some guy on YouTube took the year’s biggest songs … like “Call Me Maybe” and “Gang­nam Style” … and rewrote the lyrics using much more ADVANCED vocabulary.

For exam­ple, instead of the line, “Here’s my num­ber / So call me maybe” in Carly Rae Jepsen’s song… he sings, quote, “Here’s a set of sequen­tial inte­gers / So per­chance, we’ll engage in tele­phonic discourse.”

First he does “Call Me Maybe,” then Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” at :31, “We Are Never Ever Get­ting Back Together” by Tay­lor Swift at 1:11, “Gang­nam Style” at 1:42, Gotye’s “Sombe­body That I Used to Know” at 2:09, “What Makes You Beau­ti­ful” by One Direc­tion at 2:27, and “We Are Young” by Fun at 2:54.
