Lego Mania!

from

This year is the 80th birthday of LEGOS … and in honor of that, the world’s tallest Lego tower was just built in Seoul, South Korea.  It’s 10 stories high!

It took five days to build.

VIDEO: Best Ad Ever!

from

I have seen some great advertisements in my day, but this one is pretty creative, catchy, and lame all at the same time.

There are these two guys named Rhett and Link that go around making really weird advertisements for local businesses. In this ad, a guy tries to sell drugs to a little kid, but the kid says no because he wants to go roller-skating.

Watch what happens after that right here:

The best line of the whole ad? “Prison is for people that have never roller-skated.”

Awesome Music Video!

from

I came across this last night on YouTube.… and it was flat-out AMAZING.

It’s by Oren Lavie, and it’s called “Her Morning Elegance”. The song originally came out in 2009, but it wasn’t the song that was getting all of the attention.… it was the music video! The video actually won a 2009 Grammy Awards for “Best Short Form Music Video” and has achieved over 20 MILLION views on YouTube. Why is it so popular?

It was done in what’s called “Stop Motion Style”, which is where the video camera is still running like normal, but the editors go back and take out single frames of the video to make it appear as if it it was just a regular photo camera that was taking still photos. Oren produced and co-directed the music video and said that everyone involved was so intense about it that they worked on the video for 48 hours straight without a break.

Draw Something!

Can you believe these were made on Draw Something?

Facebook In The 90’s?

from

Can you remember back to the 90’s when all we had was dial-up internet and Netscape Navigator? How in the world did technology develop so fast?

Well, regardless of if you can or can’t remember that, someone who has way too much time on their hands came up with an instructional video for how Facebook works.… done in the style of a bad 90’s software tutorial.

If you pay close attention to the details, it’s pretty cool to watch, since EVERYTHING on the 1990’s internet had terrible graphics and lame fonts.

Doesn’t this remind you of watching educational videos on the film strip when you were in elementary school? It was very nostalgic to me.

This got me thinking though: what if there were other things that we use today in the form of a late 80’s or early 90’s program?

This is what Twitter could’ve looked like:

How about Google?

What about the ridiculously popular game of Angry Birds?

Or the latest craze, Draw Something?

It’s pretty cool to see where we are nowadays. It’s also funny to think how awesome we thought these graphics were back in the day!

April Fools Pranks!

from

Obviously, with yesterday being April Fools’ Day, lots of people out there were trying their best to prank other people. From fake birthdays to fake pregnancies, pretty much everything was in play. Even major companies got in on the fun.

Here is a list of some April Fools’ Day pranks/jokes that big companies did:

1. WestJet Airlines came up with a new concept of “Kargo Kids”, where instead of bringing your kids on the plane, they get to have a party in the baggage storage area:

2. YouTube came out with their “Ultimate Collection” where you could order every single video upload onto a DVD. The price tag for that? A little over $2 MILLION.

3. Hungry Hungry Hippos is back.… with their iPad version of the game. Not really:

4. The Sony Vaio Q UltraBook is the smallest laptop ever. It’s the size of a quarter and fits right in your pocket!

5. Tired of the basic rectangular smart pads? You should try out “Shapes” by Toshiba:

6. Conan O’Brien buys Mashable for only $3,500. Find out what he plans to do with it:

7. Could you send messages using Morse Code? Google thinks you can with their new technology:

8. This one might be my favorite. It’s Google Maps.…. in 8-bit Nintendo format:

What are some of your favorite pranks that you have pulled?

Kim Has FACIAL HAIR!

from

Does she really have facial hair? Not that we know of, however, someone with WAY too much time on their hands decided to photoshop some hair onto her face.

This is what she looks like:

That is REEEEEALLY creepy.

Movies in 5 SECONDS!

from

I could spend ALL DAY watching these videos!

If you haven’t ever seen a movie in 5 seconds, it’s pretty flippin’ amazing! There are a few different people who do this just for fun, but basically they take footage from each film and condense it down into a 5 second movie.

Here are some of the best ones that I found on Youtube! (PS, yes I realize that most of these movies are not EXACTLY 5 seconds long… work with me here people.)

Rocky I, II, III, IV, V, VI all in one:

All Batman movies together:

Forrest Gump:

Home Alone:

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back:

Jurassic Park:

This one right here may be my favorite. It’s The Matrix:

Don’t worry, there will be more of these coming soon!

Animated Indiana Jones!

from

Any of you who know me know that I love old school 80’s movies.… like Indiana Jones for example.

In fact, I have watched all four Indiana Jones movies this week (do I really have that kind of time? No, haha.)

But seriously, what a great series of movies! It is so great that this dude named Jeff Gurwood took the time to make a frame-by-frame animated movie of the first six minutes of the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” movie!

Check it out!

Acapella SUPER MARIO BROS!

from

This kid is TALENTED.

Not only did he sing six different parts of this song, he put the video together AND did an awesome job with a classic video game!

Check out the EPIC-NESS that is Super Mario Bros!
