Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Idaho Summer Repertory is proud to offer our version under the direction of Lisa Woodland, June 15, 16, 18, 21, 22, and 23. All shows start at 7:30 pm and will take place in the Bistline Theatre, Stephens Performing Arts Center. The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life in the delightful musical parable. Joseph, his father's favorite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged. He is purchased by Potiphar where thwarting advances from Potiphar's wife lands him in jail. When news of Joseph's gift to interpret dreams reaches the Pharaoh (wryly and riotously depicted as Elvis), Joseph is well on his way to becoming second in command. Eventually his brothers, having suffered greatly, unknowingly find themselves groveling at the feet of the brother they betrayed but no longer recognize. After testing their integrity, Joseph reveals himself leading to a heartfelt reconciliation of the sons of Israel. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum! pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless. http://www.isu.edu/stephens/tickets.shtml (208) 282-3595

BMX Bike Jump Exposition! “Take back the Park”
Event: BMX Bike Jump Exposition! “Take back the Park” Come join us under the sun for fun, under the trees with the breeze, or on the ground rolling around! (Weather permitting) We will gather for a ‘People’s Exposition’ of fun and jumping, biking in the air. Mostly our wild youth of course, as some may have you believe, but see for yourself what fun it can be away from the computer and enjoying the great outdoors! No age limit! The Lorax group will be present for the making of a new movie: “Air Riders.” So bring your chairs, if you’re just going to watch, and make it a picnic on the tables or on the high ground over looking the Dirt Tract. Place: People’s Peace Park 2801 North Main Street Extension – In the trees next to Pocatello Creek! Date: Saturday, May 19th, 2012 Time: 12-3 PM Event: “People’s Peace Park - Drum Circle”. Yes that’s a drum Circle. Lets us join in celebration creating the beating heart of a new park! A truly fun warming event under the shade of our spring flora – Not quite Truffula Trees, but close. Bring a friend and get syncopated with others! Beat on an instrument! Let some of that frustration out! Beat it out with friends. But most of all, make new friends and bring along some old ones as well. Join us as we awake the spirits of the Sacred Petroglyph site nearby. Come bang your drum, ring your bells, and play your spoons! Bring any sort of drum. Let us all become people united in a heart beating in harmony and good will! Place: People’s Peace Park 2801 North Main Street Extension – under the best shaded tree spot we can find! Date: Sunday, May 20th, 2012 Time: 12-3 PM For More Information: ‘like’ and contact the ‘People’s Park – Pocatello’ FB site. Or a Lorax Near you.

Wesley's Celebration!
Wesley Johnson is 7 years old and fighting brain cancer! His parents, Cody and Aimee are struggling, and we are coming together as a community to help them out! The celebration includes a "Wish Ride" for Wes. Over 200 motorcyclists have committed to meet at Rexburg Motor Sports at 4:15 to be organized into a ride through town to escort Wesley to his Fundraiser Dinner. They will loop up around the temple, down main and back down around the round-about where Wes, who will be in the front of the pack, will be able to see all the support he has. They will then hit the highway and head out to Burton Elementary (right by the new Madison High School) where the fundraiser is being held. A full potato bar dinner (salad, roll, loaded spuds and dessert) will be served, $5/plate or $20/family. There will be cotton candy, a candy bar "bar" and a very nice raffle that has been put together. The National Guard has committed to bring their obstacle course and we have a bouncy house. The "Wesley Warrior" riders will line up their bikes for "admiration", and Monster Energy Drinks is coming out to put on a display. They are bringing stunt riders and the Monster Girls. It will be a great event for a great kid, with 100% of proceeds going to the Johnson Family. The riders will meet at Rexburg Motor Sports at 4:15, the main event is from 5pm - 8pm at Burton Elementary in Rexburg.
